This place inside is more like a 5 star hotel than a hostel. I have, never ever been to a hostel like this, honestly I have been to many 5# hotels that were not this good.
This place was spoilt by the attitude of the girl working there. We did not click however this is no excuse for anybody to be rude and ignorant especialy to someone paying. To be fair she was fine with other guests it was just me! So if you want a good time just agree that the all blacks are the greatest and that England cheated over a bloody ball!! The area is in a nice area however just round the corner is( I was told after I was followed....) worst ghetto in nz ( however compared to most places its tame even at night.
Super clean, nice, and friendly. Great place overall! Will definitely stay here again.
No toilet paper in communal bathroom -- awkward!
Staff friendliness was brill! Went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at ease!
Nothing to complain about. We actually wanted to stay longer but couldn't as the place was booked out which just shows the places popularity.
Friendly staff, everything we needed plus extras, had a great time, would stay again.
Unfortunately the two days we were there there seemed to be a problem witht he hot water and it wasn't until the second day that a hot shower was provided for us downstairs in the laundry area.
The level of luxary in the rooms. They were well kitted out and warm. The shower facilities were top notch and the lounge area welcoming and inviting. A great place to stay.
The location was on the far side of town and a bit of a walk to buses. Not great when alone at night as not well lit. Once you get the lay of the land it's not so bad and the level of luxary more than makes up for it's location.
Sarah was very friendly, very tidy and very warm and welcoming.
This is a very unique lodge. It is clean and beautiful. The garden is quite impressive. Friendly service from staff. I will definitely recommend this lodge to anyone who go to Christchurch.
I love Haka Lodge. Without a doubt my favourite backpackers in NZ. The staff are great, the place is super clean and comfortable. And no bunk beds! This isn't a party hostel with people up at all hours. It's just chilled out and friendly. Free wifi for an hour. This latest visit I got a few hours free which was lovely of them.
The only things I don't like about the place are the distance from the CBD of Christchurch (not a problem if you drive- a bit of a wait for a bus if you don't) and the fact that you have to use all of your wifi time in one go. It would be great if you could pause your usage to really get the most out of that hour! Otherwise perfect!
Friendly staff, comfort and cleanliness of room and facilities, free wifi.
City center only reachable by bus or car and this is still complicated due to constructions going on after earthquakes (Re Start in CBD is still worth the visit!)
It was comfortable and very reasonably priced. I was contacted with details for security and time of arrival. Greeted at the door and shown around.
Bit noisey in the evening and the kitchen and lounge a mess in the morning but apparently you were celebrating your anniversary and the mess was cleaned up quickly. One thing that was really not good was the bloody tissue on the bench in the kitchen shoud have been put in the bin straight away.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, professional and helpful. The design of the building the rooms and the social areas was great, well thought out. It was clean and well looked after. Convenient public transport.
It was a little out of the way but was served by good public transport.
Got very quick responses to any queries Room was modern, clean Felt that is price was reasonable As arrived late left early didn;t see any staff but key was where they said it would be Directions very clear - had no prob finding place. Bed very comfy room/facilities very clean
Could be a bit clearer on saying that room was in apartment with other people. Just to avoid confusion looking for room late at night.
The staff are friendly and the lodge is very clean
I liked all things
The staff, the atmosphere, you feel like being at home, just great !!!
Great, strongly recommended for budget traveller
